Bald

So yesterday and today are just lazy days, I spent the day yesterday wondering around town by myself, picked up a new book and sat on the beach reading most of the day. I went for a hair cut and ended up with no hair and a nice white skull so I'm ducking in and out of the sun today to bronze it up but not burn it. Later on I headed back into town the two English guys I met the day before and hung out on the beach and grab some dinner. And the plans for today are to get a new book cause I'm already done the one from yesterday and hit the beach in a while when it cools down a bit. I guess this is no fun for you to read with the nice white snow outside but thats why you should be here with me! Tomorrow I head out for Krabi so it will be a long day of traveling, 3 1/2 hrs by boat and then 3 hrs by bus then another 1/2 hr by local transport, whatever that happens to be to our place. We have 4 day booked there so I don't know what is around there or what i'll be up to but chances are I'll be on the beach. I'll check back in when i can.

Full Moon Party

What a party, I've never seen anything like it, thousands of people dancing on the beach all night long. You've never been to a party until you go to a full moon party! My legs are killing from daning for hours and my whole body aches from drinking the buckets. For those who don't know a bucket is a mickey of whiskey, a can of coke and a red bull in a kids sand bucket for only a 150 baht (under $5). The fire dancing was amazing and the music was also great, I spent most of my night listening and dancing to jungle, wishing you were there Rob. I spent today recovering in bed, some how I managed to escape without a hang over but I'm aching all over from dancing so I went and got a massage and now i'm going to head home to catch up on my sleep, hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow so I can spend the day on the beach, i haven't really got much sun so I'm still pretty white.

Koh Phangan

Tonight its party time, the huge storm yesterday wasn't so bad, we got stuck at the pier for a few hours waiting for a boat and the ride over was wet and cold and VERY rocky but so much fun. The boat was rocking so much that I'm amazed everyone stayed on board and noone blew chunks, I had the greatest time Yarring at the pirates as I walked the plank. I'll stop and give you a minute to insert your own Yarrrrr now. Okay now we are all feeling better I'll continue, so we jumped into the back of a converted pick up, which is the main way to get around here and headed over the worst roads I've ever been on to the new place. The roads were very bumpy and were very steep, another fun ride! When we got to the new place we were greated by the owner and they took us to our new hut in the Jungle. This place is nicer then the last but the room is really small, basically a double bed with just enough room to walk around it. The guy was really nice and said I could come down and watch their tv anytime I wanted and they have a whole bunch of movies on VCD so i'm sure I'll be watching some soon. I spent the after noon sitting on the porch of my hut reading and listening to the rain and loudest thounder I've ever heard in my life. We went down to the restaurant for dinner and I tried to order Shark steak but they didn't have any and the manager said he'd go down to the market for me today and see if he can get some. While we were eating dinner the manager was sitting there drinking whiskey and coke and he sent us over two glasses, hes such a nice guy, he also is going to give us the bigger room if the people don't show up for it today. I spent the rest of the night reading and writing on my porch, very nice and relaxing. This morning I woke up and went for a walk in the jungle behind my hut and saw some cool plants and then we headed into Thong ala to book our tickets to Krabi for the 30th. And thats where i'm at now, so i'm going to check my email now and see how many i can respond to before I run out of time.

What a day

I woke up at around 10 after my first full night of sleep in almost a week and went a booked a half day tour. I grabbed some breakdast at the resort restaurant, pork fried rice and as soon as I was done eating the minibus came to pick us up for the tour. First we headed to the elephant park to go for a 30 min elephant ride, about half way throught the ride the driver/guide got off to take pictures of us on it and so we got to climb down out of the seat and sit on its head like they do. Graham went first and then I went but after the guy took the pictures of me he climbed back on into my seat and I got to stay on the neck/head of the elephant for the rest of the time. It was so much fun and we trekked through a little stream that came off of a waterfall. After that we hopped into the back of a pick up that had benches attached and went to the Aquarium. The place was really dark and dingy but they had some nice fish and I took tonnes of pictures for Robbie. At the same place they had a tiger and bird show but before the show I got to feed a baby tiger. It sat in my lap and drank from a bottle while pulling on my arm with its paws. The little guy was so cute and very strong, I wanted to kidnap him and bring him home. The show was alright the birds were funny, they rode bikes on a tightrope and did math. And the tigers jumped through flaming hoops and sat up all pretty. Next we went for authentic thai food, which was very tasty and I had a dog sitting there with its head on my lap beggin for some food. Then we headed to another waterfall which was much nicer then the first, it was a good 5 min hike to get to it but it didn't compair to the ones we saw in isreal. After that they took us back to our place and I sat on the beach reading and watching the sunset. Now we are in town, just had some dinner at a wierd German place, I ate Toast Hawaii, basically ham, cheese and pinapple on a toast. It was pretty good believe it or not but not as good as the thai food I've been eating. Oh yeah we also booked our boat over to Koh Phangan with a minibus pick up at our place for only 250 baht, I was expecting to pay around 600 or 800 for it so that was a good surprise. On the downside they are expecting some crappy weather coming up, some kind of storm so the full moon party might not be that good. Hopefully it will be bad tomorrow and pass quickly. One last thing to leave you with a smile, on the way here a "Lady-boy" as our tour guide called them told me that s/he "Loves me" as I walked by.

Koh Samui

Well I'm now down in the south and it is so freaking hot here, I know you'll all want to kick me in the junk for complaining about the heat but i had to hide for most of the afternoon cause I felt like my head was on fire when i wasn't in the shade and I was sweating buckets when I was in the shade. I took a shower today and got out and was still wet after drying myself two time cause it was that hot that I just couldn't stop sweating. For all my moms out there I was drinking plenty of water and wearing lots of sunscreen ;) Well I don't really remember where I left off last but the first two days were so busy that I don't think I could write about everything I did but I'll try to post most of the highlights. The second night in Bangkok we witnessed something noone should ever see but if you are ever in bangkok you must go anyways, just ask any tuk tuk drive to see a ping pong show and they'll take to one. After that we tried to go to a club but the driver got the wrong impression and we ended up in a "massage" parlour with about 20 young girls lined up for us to pick from. Obviously we turned right around and got out of there as fast as possible, after finishing our beers. Then we walked to an outdoor beer market and saw some live music with a very amusing version of Mambo #5. The next day we headed out to a park and relaxed while munching on some fired chicken feet, yummmmmmm. And after dinner we hopped on the bus down to Sukrat Thani which was a hell of a 12 hr bus ride and then caught a 2 hr boat to Koh Samui where we are right now. This afternoon the seconds passed like hours and I thought it would never end, around 5 the temp started to drop off and I was sweating buckets anymore, just 500 mL bottles and I got an hr long massage on the beach for only 200Baht or $6.70 CND and then we headed out to grab dinner and now we are waiting for the millions of bars around here to fill up. Well I better go attend the 12 emails waiting for me as it is alot more expensive for internet down here then in Bangkok and I need to save some money for the bars later. Thanks for the comments, I love reading them so keep on writing them!

Only 10 minutes left

Well I have only ten minutes left on my time here but I'll try to put as much as possible down here. So I'm here and good, the 20 hrs on airplanes was not fun at all but the people i met on the flights were very cool. When i got out of the airport I met a guy from BC and we are hanging out and going to be traveling together for the next month until he leaves. Last night I stayed in my own huge suite that was very expensive but nice and tonight I'm going to stay in his room. We spent the day flying around bangkok in a tuk tuk and touring in a long tail boat with a 62 yr old lady who was so nice and so much fun altho she kinda freaked me out when she complained about being tired and her back hurting and then made a motion like slitting her throat with her finger and then her wrist and having blood squirt out. I'm not quite sure what that was all about but i'm sure Zach will get a kick out of that. Tomorrow evening we are taking a bus down south to Koh Samui where we have a private bungalo waiting for us on the beach and then off to Koh Phangan for a full moon party and then to Krabi and Koh Pe Pe where I might do my scuba training. Well thats about it for time, I really enjoying getting emails from you guys so keep sending them and i'll keep on responding. As for this blog i'm going to try to make time to update it even if it isn't to detailed, but my day has been soo busy that it would take me an hour just to write about everything I did and I want to take that time to respond to the personal emails I'm getting. I hope all is well back home with everyone and I'll write again soon.

9 days left here

Well I'm setting up this blog so that I only have to write what I'm doing once and everyone can check in on me when they have a chance. So right now with 9 days to go, I have my Visa, plane ticket and that's about it. I still need to get together all my clothes and supplies, get some travelers cheques and stuff it all in my bag before I take off. So once I'm gone this will be the only place you will be getting details about my travels but I will still be checking my personal emails and responding to those. I just don't want to spend all of my trip in an internet cafe, I'm sure I'll be posting and writing a lot more at the beginning of my trip when I'm traveling around the cities but once I hit the beaches I doubt I'll be spending to much time in doors. You can comment on all of my posts and I hope you do.
