3 ... 2... 1... BUNGY

Yep thats right I went and threw myself off a perfectly good structure with only a cord tied around my ankles again but boy was it fun! I got up pretty early today and had nothing to do so I decided it was my last chance this year to do something stupid and so I went bungy jumping! I got picked up and there were two couples already in the truck, all of them going for their first time so they chose me to go first which I was planning on donig anyways but don't tell them. When we got to the place all of us looked up at the tower and said it didn't look that high and it wasn't anything compaired to the first time I went. It was only 50 meters high and really didn't look bad from the ground. Anyways we went and signed out lives away and got out free tshirts, woo hoo and then went over to the side to wait out turn. There were a lot of people sitting around waiting so we figured it would be a good 30 min wait but not 5 mins after we got there I was sitting getting strapped up. Included in the price were 36 pictures so they were taking photographs every step of the way. Once I had on the harness I hopped over to the car and up I went. Well let me tell you, from the ground 50 m may not look that high but from up in the air, well it looks really high. I of course had to look down, which is the worst thing to do but it was really cool looking down on and it was even nicer looking around. There was beautiful country all around me and right behind was a nice mountain range. I took in the sights for a few seconds once we got to the top and made my way to the edge. The jump master snapped a few more photos but I was ready to jump and sick of smiling for the camera. When I got to the edge I looked down and scared the crap out of myself but then before I jumped I just looked straight ahead. He counted down 3.. 2.. 1.. BUNGY and I just jumped straight out and spread my arms into a nice dive unlike the last time. I think it was scarier jumping without looking down b/c you just jump striaght out and have no idea how far your about to fall. The free fall was much shorter then last time and the harness wasn't nearly as comfortable. Over all it was lots and lots of fun but no where near the first time. I can't wait until next summer to go again back there the extra 50m makes a huge difference. After my jump I watched the rest of the group go and we had to encourage the ladies to jump. Every girl that went had so much trouble jumping and almost gave up and came back down but we all were yelling and helping them from the bottom. And eventually they all jumped but all of them said they'd never do it again. The guys all took off as soon as they got up there and loved it and can't wait to go again. I guess that tells you a lot about the different sexes, altho we all knew that before anyways. After that I went to the shooting range and shot off 30 rounds on a .38 hand gun. The instructor was really funny and made me pose with the gun in a bunch of different ways. I was pretty good, never missing the paper target! I hit inside the circles a few times but usually I was just on the outside. For my last 6 shots he set up these metal targets 20 m away and I picked off 5 in a row, 2 big ones and 3 smalls ones. Then with my last bullet I tried the small circle target but missed it. It was pretty cool shooting off the gun and I thought about getting 10 roudns with a shotgun but I had already spent enough money today, maybe another time. When I was leaving that place the taxi drive pulled over right outside of the gates. It turned out that his friend was out driving drunk on his motobike and fell asleep and drove it into the wall. The bike was brand new and pretty messed up so they threw it in the back of the truck and we dropped him off at a repair shop along the way. The guy looked really drunk and I couldn't beleive he had been driving but he didn't have a scratch on him. The taxi driver was laughing his ass off at his friend like it was a big joke. Tonight I'm meeting up with the people from my cooking class and going to a bar, hopefully to meet up with the people from the bungy place. It should be fun. I hope your last day of 2004 was as enjoyable as mine. Happy New Years!

Hi Brandon,
Remember I said that life was short and to go for the gusto and do everything you wanted? Well I didn't really have Bungee jumping in mind. You are a gutsy man! Did you figure that since the Tsunami didn't get you...you had nine lives? I am amazed that this si the second time you've done it! I think that parasailing was scary enough for me and I will just live vicariously thru you. LOl!

Take care and Happy New Year!
Love Susan
